We all love beer. And if you don`t love beer, what are you doing here? Anyway, here are 10 interesting facts about such an amazing beverage that may interest you.

Fact #1: Beer is the world’s most widely consumed alcoholic beverage and the third-most popular drink overall after water and tea. 

Fact #2: The most beer-drinking country in the world is the Czech Republic. On the average, every Czech drinks almost 40 gallons(more than 150 liters) of beer a year.

Fact #3: Today, there are about 400 types of beer in the world. The country that has the most individual beer brands is Belgium.

Fact #4: The world’s longest hangover belongs to a Scotsman that consumed 60 pints of beer and lasted 4 weeks.

Fact #5: The most expensive beer in the world is “Vielle Bon Secours“ from Belgium. One bottle costs around 1000 United States dollars.

Fact #6: The study of beer and beer-making is known as Zythology. It derives from the Greek words “zythos” (beer) and “logos” (study).

Fact #7: Winner of the Wife Carrying World Championships in Finland gets the wife’s weight in beer.

Fact #8: The world’s best-selling beer is a Chinese beer called Snow. For this title Snow owes to his low price (49 cents for a can) and a size of Chinese beer market(over one billion of people).

Fact #9: The world´s strongest beer is Brewmeister´s “Snake Venom“. While regular beer usually have about 5% ABV(Alcohol By Volume), Snake Venom has 67,5% ABV.

Fact #10: Beer commercials in the United Sates aren’t allowed to show people actually drinking the beer. United States have a law that forbids to show people consuming an alcoholic beverage on television. So, people on American beer commercials just hold their beer and smile.
